Anna Varnase

Graduated from the Art Academy of Latvia, Faculty of Visual Plastic Arts, Department of Glass Art (MA), Riga, Latvia, 2017. Studied as ERASMUS exchange student at the E. Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław, Poland, 2015.
Lecturer at the University College of Economics and Culture, Riga, from 2018.
Expanded her knowledge and experience through her work in hot glass studios in Latvia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Lithuania, and the United Kingdom during ERASMUS+ Internship programmes. Received the Luxembourg Glass Art Associations award, 2017, and several grants for creative work from the State Culture Capital Foundation (SCCF). Nominated for the Stanislav Libenský Award, 2017 and for the Saxe Emerging Artists Award by the Glass Art Society, the United States, 2019.
Participated in more than 20 group exhibitions in Latvia, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and including the International Biennale of Glass, Sofia, Bulgaria, 2019, and European Glass Context, Bornholm, Denmark, 2021.
Works in the collection of: Līvāni Glass Museum, Līvāni, Latvia, and the Glass Museum in Lviv, Ukraine. Established the glass art and design studio Glass Point, where she organises social projects and glass workshops for the public.
