Merle Kannus

Graduated from the Glass Department at the Estonian Academy of Arts (EKA), Tallinn, Estonia, 2000. Since 1995, besides creating art, she has worked in various professions, among others as an animator, florist, decorator, translator, and lecturer in colour theory.
She has participated in 9 solo exhibitions in Estonia, including: Sergeant Tirr and the Case of the Fingerprint, Rapla County Centre for Contemporary Art, Rapla, Estonia, 2012; Sacred Secretion, Museum of New Art, Pärnu, Estonia, 2013. She participated also in two two-person shows in Estonia together with Erki Kannus.
She has taken part in numerous group exhibitions in Estonia, Denmark, Latvia, and Lithuania, including: Young Glass 1997, Glasmuseet Ebeltoft (the Ebeltoft Glass Museum), Denmark, 1997; Estonian Glass 70, the Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design (ETDM), Tallinn, 2007; International Glass Art Biennial 2D – Vilnus, Lithuania, and Pärnu, 2016; Estonia: a Mindscape, Rapla County Centre for Contemporary Art, 2018. She has been the curator of several exhibitions in Estonia.
Her works are included in the collection of the Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design (ETDM), Tallinn.
Her hobbies are gardening and science.
