Kalina Bańka

Graduated from the Faculty of Ceramics and Glass at the E. Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław, 2013. After graduation she was employed as teaching staff of this faculty in the Studio of Glass in Architecture and the Studio of Stained Glass Design.

She has received numerous grants and awards, including a scholarship from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage for outstanding achievements in Academia, 2011; the Scholarship of the President of Wrocław in the Field of Culture and Art for the Talented Young People of Wrocław, 2011/2012, 2012/2013; the Scholarship from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education for outstanding achievements in Academia and the Rector’s Scholarship for the best students at the Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław, 2012/2013; the Scholarship from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage “Young Poland”, 2014.

She took first place in the Zwieseler Kölbl 2015 competition at the Cultural Centre, Zwiesel, Germany, 2015; finalist in the international glass context Stanislav Libenský Award 2012, Prague, the Czech Republic; a special prize in the international Sanssouci Junior Glass Match glass competition, Karlovy Vary, the Czech Republic, 2012.

She has participated in 4 solo exhibitions in Poland and in 45 group exhibitions in Poland, Germany, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia.

She is interested in pop culture. She creates graphic art, paintings, and glass objects.
