Margit M. Tóth

Graduated from the Ceramics Department of the Hungarian University of Arts and Design (currently, the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, MOME), Budapest, Hungary, 1986.

She was granted the Lajos Kozma Fellowship, Hungary, 1993, and the International Glass Invitational Award, Habatat Galleries, USA, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2009, and 2012.

She has participated in 2 individual and 23 group exhibitions in Hungary and abroad, including the Compositions Gallery, San Francisco, USA, 1998–2003; the Habatat Galeries, Art Palm Beach, Florida, USA, 2006–2011; the Dennos Museum Center, Michigan, USA, 2012; the European Glass Context 2013, Bornholms Kunstmuseum, Bornholm, Denmark.

She is fully dedicated to glass. Her art often includes cubic animal forms, referring to archaic figurative art. Her sculptures always are part of a composition and have some kind of symbolic meaning. She strives to ensure that her sculptures touch people, regardless of whether they know these symbols.
