Jesse Günther

Graduated from the Glass Department of the Faculty of Design at the National College of Art and Design (NCAD), Dublin, Ireland, 2013. He holds a Bachelor's Honours Degree in Craft Design (Glass) and in History of Art and Design, NCAD, Dublin, 2013. Currently, he lives in Berlin, Germany, and works as a Studio Manager at Berlin Glas e.V.

As a student, he was awarded several scholarships: the Mary Cawley Travel Bursary, NCAD, Dublin, 2012, 2013; a full scholarship from the Corning Museum of Glass, Corning, New York, USA, 2012; a half-tuition scholarship from the Pittsburgh Glass Centre, Pittsburgh, USA, 2012; and a Partner Scholarship from the Pilchuck Glass School, Seattle, USA, 2013.

He has been awarded the Sculpture in Context Award for a large outdoor work, Dublin, 2013, and the European Union Leonardo da Vinci grant, 2013.

He has participated in exhibitions in Ireland, including: Perspectives 2, Ballina Open Exhibition, Ballina Arts Centre, Ballina, County Mayo, Ireland, 2007; Jesse Günther Solo Show, Holmes of Doohoma, Ballina, 2011; Sculpture in Context, Botanic Gardens, Dublin, 2012, 2013.

Jesse Günther works mostly with glassblowing. He creates biomorphic art forms inspired by underwater sea creatures and insects.

He loves rock climbing and nature photography.
